Wait a minute, Mustang...the credits say the theme song was written and SUNG by Paul Hampton. We obviously need an investigative reporter such as El Duque to get to the bottom of this. I suspect Mustang is a fraud, just like the Yankee infield.
Buhner's Ghost, thanks for the Nixon degree of separation.
But before you go around slinging worlds like "fraud," you should know that Paul Hampton did sing the song over the credits on TV. Unlikely as it might seem, this is actually a track from one of Sammy's albums, overlaid onto the video!

Sammy hugged Nixon, and Nixon threw out the first pitch of the season and the first Vietnam War protester in 1969.

If Sammy had sang this originally, that show would still be on the air.
The connection to the Yankees is obvious: Sammy was pals with Dean (Anna), the Chairman (Whitey Ford) and Joey (Girardi)
Damn youMustang!
"Never nervous Yangervis."
And the Master tipped his cat to David Cone, who came up with it.
This song is connected to baseball, specifically the cubs. They both SUCK BEYOND BELIEF.
I heard the Yangervis call and had no idea wtf he was talking about.
leave it to 'stang to rediscover this long-lost jewel of American culture. this blog rocks!!
of course, the Yankee connection is with the IIHIIFII..c version of Sammy's "Grandyman", co-written by the Master himself. This is so obvious.
Never nervous Yangervis! Solarte whoa oh oh Solarte
