Virtual Baseball: Deivi, Deivi Garcia, King of Fenway Park!

Virtual rookie Deivi Garcia had a breakthrough start at Fenway Park tonight, pitching seven shutout innings, and was removed from the game only for reasons of pitch count, as the Yanks pounded hapless Boston, 13-2.

The Old Towne Tanke Sox were a picture of futility, striking out 10 times against Garcia alone, and 14 in all, committing three errors, and generally showing all the inspiration and energy of your average piece of scrod.  Frustrated Sox fans even jeered the nightly, Neil Diamond rendition of "Sweet Caroline" and started repeated choruses of "We want Tom-my!"—inspired by recent rumors that Tom Brady was in the market to buy the team.

For the Yanks, it was a night of "Kenmore?  Yes, more!" as the Bombers piled it on.  Home runs by a recovering Aaron Judge, Luke Voit, D.J. LeMahieu, and El Matador, Miguel Andujar, made the night a romp from the start.

The win finishes August for the Bronx team with a record of 93-44—one of the best in the franchise's history, but still two behind the torrid Tampa Rays.  Still, Ma Boone's boys seemed confident that they would eventually be able to catch up to the horrid, zooplankton-scarfing fish.
