Good call, RTF!

The ceremony was on point, and well done. I will never miss the faux game they used to play Great to see DJ in pinstripes, hope to see him in the front office very soon.

Somewhat ironic that the Greatest Yankee Team of our lives is celebrated by one of the worst Yankee teams ever for many of us.

As expected, Severino to the 15 day IL with an unspecified upper body injury. Probably an oblique injury
Abreu out with a hamstring injury, his season over. This is the must fragile bunch this side of the U.S. senate.

Marinaccio, who was awful at SWB, has been recalled.

YES! Way to go, Rufus!

Sevvy today was saying that he didn't know what was wrong, but he he didn't intend to go in for testing. So...

Hey, I know. He seemed very, very upset, which was sad. But he'll rest over the winter, and get another chance somewhere,

Now if the post-game show includes Ca$hole being fired, my day will be perfect.

Basically the team quit today
Boone hung out the white flag when he put Marinaccio in.
They embarrassed themselves in front of the greatest Yankee team.

Do it little stein, pull the trigger

Unbelievable. Not a gut on this team, save for the one that Sevvy pulled.

These, your 2023 NY Yankees are dead.

They are gone.

Stick a fork, or a straw, or a gerbil in them because they ain’t coming back like some George Romero zombie.

Done Done Done.

It was fun at times: my figures show that they were fun 16% of the time (honestly My Math never lies but I was surprised at how high that number was)

My advice is to find other hobbies, other sports, other pastimes to occupy your time.

The Tankees ain’t it - nor will they be for the next three to four years.

It will get so grim that Cole will be moved next year.

Boone needs to go.

He really does.

I fear that next year he’s going to start chewing on his toe nails in the dugout until the bleed.

(ProTip - you can’t blow bubbles with mouth mulched toe nails)

Auto correct I shake my fist at you!

I happened to have noticed a shocking stat in the stats section today. Anthony Volpe leads the American League in defensive WAR so far this year according to base-reference.com. This coming after various "analytics" said that his arm was "short" along with lack of range, yada, yada. Pretty damned impressive, peak defensive numbers are usually reached around 25-27. Barring injuries and assuming continued offensive improvement we should have a nice building block. I don't wish to give off a vibe of giddy exuberance, so don't crucify me just yet. I'm still waiting for the latest call-ups to crash and burn , in keeping with my usual skepticism, and that of the blog.😈

I hereby rescind any and all optimism I may have expressed about this team. They stink.

Shocker: David Wells, whose fat ass made his back hurt, is an asshole. But maybe not wrong about baseball. Just everything else.

Hey Kevin -- do the numbers say another about Gleyber's baserunning prowess?

Not being snarky, just asking. I always thought running the bases was basic to the game, even when I played (and I really stunk up the joint).

Joe, I have been wanting them to trade his ass all year, and half of last year. Classic case a player who "can" , but never will. Like Sleepy Sanchez, he just un-plugs mentally at the worst possible time. The antithesis of Joe Morgan who was a "winning ballplayer" .

JM, a classless asshole. Had he worked on his game, instead of moaning about his mispent youth he might have been in the Hall. Of course maybe he did really well considering. I wasn't there, nor did anyone make me the Supreme Judge. But he was a 'hole.....

Amen, JM and Kevin.

My immediate response was, "Since when did you drink any lite beer, ever, fat boy?"

Which is wrong, of course. And there is a long tradition of outstanding "fat" pitchers, from Fat Freddie Fitzsimmons to Mickey Lolich to CC. But for a guy who opted out of a World Series game because his back hurt...

One shouldn't drink lite beer, period. Yanks shouldn't have Nike swooshes—or Starr Insurance patches—on the pinstripes, period.

And Wells is going to carry around a gun to protect himself from...transsexuals? Yeah, big boy, somehow I think you'll survive unarmed.
