Volpe back at shortstop. I guess he's fixed now.
Stanton not starting. Because, Boone.
Is Zoilo batting cleanup?
who needs Stanton when yah got the Grish at the Dish ? *
*well, to be honest, we do and that is exactly why Boone has him on the bench today. . . .
The idiot.
Bases loaded, nobody out, and they suck.
or blew it, depending on your - point of view
Pardon me, but do you have any grey poupon?
--- "BUT OF COURSE!"
Belly to Belli
And, homers.
Don’t know who’s worse, Wells or Volpe.
Yes, they are
JM, we are totally fucked WITH Stanton. He’s an albatross - has been and always will be.
Just because he’s given us a sniff of the biscuit FOR THE FIRST TIME IN EIGHT YEARS doesn’t mean this was the absolute worst signing of the reign of The Intern.
Shame we can’t trade him now and get some value in return.
As for Judge, my money is on TJ surgery as soon as the season is over. Which should be in the first round.

Well, Stanton isn't an albatross this year. And we would be fucked without him. Just like we would've been totally fucked without him in the 2024 postseason.
Nobody will take him in a trade, that's never been a real possibility. So I say, relax and enjoy the show he's putting on. It's a pretty good one.
Ed McMahon tagged that one.
9-0
Homer happy.
This is ridiculous.
Volpe will end it.
😂
God, he's terrible.
Enough…Volpe needs to accept an assignment to Scranton and spend a few weeks working on his swing.
Why not Antarctica?
Stanton not an albatross? The guy has played in 51 games this year!
The last time he batted over .233 was FIVE YEARS AGO!!!
His time with the Yankees has been a miserable failure on all fronts.
Have you forgotten his BAs in 22 & 23? I haven’t: in missing 113 games in those two years, he hit .211 and .233.
And in 2018 and 2019 he managed to show up for all of 41 games.
So you will excuse me for saying his time here has been, with the exception of a few weeks, less than awful. The Yankees being totally fucked is due, in large part, to his presence and his lack of presence.
These past few weeks have been an aberration. The guy is very nearly totally useless. Wait, that not fair: he is in fact totally useless and nothing he does against all the dog meat the Yankees have been playing lately is going to change that. He should never have been in pinstripes and I will celebrate the day he’s gone.
Kinda hoping now for everyone to go long except Volpe
I think they have a chance in this game, if they get another inning or two out of Fried.
Stanton has not been an albatross this year or in the postseason last year. Sure, he's been pretty bad for most of his stay. But right now, no. With Judge having disappeared the past month, Stanton has picked up the slack. He missed a lot of games, again, but when he showed up, he showed up. So, good for him, and good for us.
DickAllen, you're wrong. Yes, in 2022 and 2023, Stanton DID miss a total of 113 games. But he did NOT hit .211 and .233. Oh, no. HE HIT .191 AND .211! The .233 was his great "comeback" year in 2024!
JM, I love you to death. But Dick "Don't call me Richie" Allen is RIGHT! Stanton is an all-time albatross!
How many times did we watch Stanton come off the DL, struggle mightily for weeks, finally start hitting, and write to each other, "Oh, now he'll get injured again!" And he always would. I expect it to happen again before the playoffs this year...
...Yes, "Big G" has had some very good postseasons for us. But let's not get carried away. Remember how he had a great first game against Houston in the ALCS in 2019, homered and everything...then took himself out of the lineup for all but one remaining game? Has any other Yankee ever done that, taken himself out of a series despite homering to start off? I don't think so...
...Look, I get down on Judge, too, for not being clutch. And, sadly, he isn't clutch—or at least clutch enough. And he gets injured—but that's in part because he's a very big man playing the game the way it should be played: stealing bases, fielding brilliantly. Stanton would never SEE a clutch moment, if it weren't for Judge so often carrying this team on his massive shoulders.
Chances are, Judge is playing hurt right now, and not saying anything about it, which is probably a big reason why he looks so bad. Chances are, Stanton will tweak something tomorrow, just DHing, and miss the next three weeks. I think it's easy to tell the albatross.
