We better win this fucking game. So sick of the Yankees unable to hit Japanese pitchers. This guy Sugano has a 5 1/4 ERA. One of the best pitchers for the Rockies (12-8 record), but he basically sucks big time. If the Bronx Bastards lose ... there will be consequences.

Jazz has a thumb sprain, out for ten days at least. Volpe called up to play fucking second base. Uh oh!

Mr. Magee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Warren better not give up a blast to this hitter, Young Goodman Brown.

Tomoyoki Sugano, a guy pushing 40.

Garcia doing home run derby! Will Warren, there's your run.

The Hammer of God said...

After all that, one measly fucking run scored.

Warren giving up a booming double and walk. Don't it seem like the ceiling is starting to bow inwards, starting to buckle?

Judge got a single. So at least he's not going to go "O for" for the rest of the year.

First grand slam of the season for the Yankees! And it's Lombard's first career grand slam!

Hinkey Haines said...

Jeter’s first (& only) grand slam was in 2005. So Lombard is already WAY better than #2!!!

Hinkey Haines said...

Jeter that is. I never doubted he was better than a poop.

Lombard!

It's good that the Bastards are winning, but ... home run derby again.

This game ain't over.

St. Louis Cards this afternoon had a 6-1 lead in the bottom 8th. Shit team San Fran Giants scored 6 runs and won the game 7-6. Seen an awful lot of that kind of stuff this year. Double digit leads have been blown.

Hope the Yankees blow the doors off this one. Don't want to see Colorado bringing the tying run to the plate in the 9th.

Bronx Bastards'll go for the sweep tomorrow!

Rays winning ☹️

Rays won, again, against Atlanta, and it wasn't close. Gotta tip our hat, and call them our Bathomorphi cartilaginous fish.

Sox lost at home again to the Angels, though. Hee-hee...

Of course, Jazz sprains his thumb sliding hand first. All players slide hand first now, because the genius algorithms tell them that is the fastest way to get to the next bag.

Remember how, back in the day, teams used to practice sliding feet first over and over again in spring training? Of course, you can mess up your legs going feet first into a base, but it seems to me that the much bigger risk is messing up your hands, which you need to swing a bat, wield a glove, and make a throw.

That would seem to me to make sliding hand first—not to mention, head- and face-first—into a bag a bad idea.

But of course, algorithms don't consider this because...baserunning doesn't matter!

I gotta say, I think Judge definitely made the right choice by skipping the minors and coming right back to the Yankees. There are arguments to be made both ways, but I don't know that the minors ever get you truly ready to go, there is not enough time left in the season, and...everyone seems truly enlivened by his presence.

Don't know if this is really just a side benefit of playing the Rockies, but it looks real.
