The Yankee's Mr. MVP, known to some as A-Rod ( relaxing in the clubhouse, at left ) appears to be feeling the burden of carrying the Yankees with his red-hot bat.
Given all the injuries to the Yankee pitching corps, as well as the foolish decision to include Jeff Karstens in the Pirate trade, it is fitting that the big name guys have to step-up and carry the team until Carl Pavano arrives.
A-Rod, while showing Madonna-like signs of wear and tear, is up for the challenge.

On this road trip, A-Rod is 0-14 with 4 strikeouts and has hit into only 4 double plays. The other 6 outs, probably, were far more productive.
Before the road trip, he banged into a sure, inning-ending DP with the bases loaded against the Angels, and the tie scored. Chone Figgins choked on A-Rod's one-hopper, and the Yanks then scored enough runs to win.
We are all looking forward to the Angels series with Ian Kennedy and then Dan Geise on the mound. When Alex is due up in RBI situations, I think he will succeed at least 232 times out of a thousand.
