Yank dilemna with Slade Heathcott: Not sign him, or operate on him?

New York _ Yank brass today are debating strategy for handling top possible potential future, can't-miss, sky's-the-limit, anything-goes prospect/patient Slade Heathcott, the first player we nabbed in this year's meat-off-the-hook draft.

Based on previous years' events, the teenager must decide from these options:

a) Not sign with the Yanks.
b) Sign, then accept the team's offer of free Tommy John surgery.
c) Be diagnosed for cancer.
e) Play a while, then yearn to try another sport.

Heathcott, not to be confused with Sterling Hitchcock, is the 29th person picked in the draft, which covers all players in North America, with the exception of 13 to 16-year-old Latino boys, who are currently under contract to their local fixers.

He could also choose to be a walk-on point guard at kansas University, like CJ Henry and his brother.
