The question of whether John Sterling's tainted 11.58-second WinWarble is authentic has taken on a new wrinkle.
Through the miracle of digital technology, we have been able to take out the extra words in yesterday's WinWarble. HE STILL BLEW AN 8.13 SECOND WARBLE!
THAT'S AN ALL-TIME RECORD, 0.11 SECONDS OVER THE PREVIOUS MARK.
The question remains: IS THIS A VALID WARBLE? DOES IT COUNT IF HE TAKES AN EXTRA BREATH?
HERE IT IS...

If John's 11:58 WinWarble had not been enhanced, it would STILL have set an all-time record

No one questions if David Well's perfect game counts because it came against a weak punch-less Minn. Twins lineup. What we have here, is John being given the opportunity to deliver and boy did he. He didn't say well they clinched everything today, who cares let me just go home. No... this is the definition of a clutch performance. Yankee players take notes. When presented with opportunity John Sterling hit it High, he hit it Far!!!
This convinced me to change my vote while crying for the second time today.
Too bad my wife left me and she won't get to hear this while I make love to my new girlfriend.
I think we need a new postseason/clincher/baseball-immortality category. Every division clincher, ALDS series victory, ALCS series victory, and the big one will each automatically exceed 8 seconds because of the sheer volume of words that must be included in the warble. And it would not be fair to compare those against an 8-second warble that would be pathetic in the postseason but a sign of strength during the regular season. Please consider this request before we make all regular season warbles irrelevant. (Although this would be appropriate because if the Yanks don't win it all, then the regular season is for naught.)
Flabbergasting bombasticity - as only John can supply. The world is a better place for this.
