Sterling Index Tumbles in Game 3: WTF?

This is both disgraceful and troubling.

In perhaps pivotal Game 3 of the World Series, John turns in the worst WinWarble of the Post-Season.

Even against the Twins, he nailed a 6.68.

The index now stands at 6.12. Is it a National League thing?

Do you have WinWarble data from interleague games? Could shed some light on this troubling trend.

When are you going to match the index against the Dow Jones? Got any friends in SABR who can work that out?

Just flabbergasted.

The win snuck up on him - the out came too quickly. I know it's an excuse, but there it is.

Really though, tonight's game is the biggest yet of the postseason. Up 3-1 or tied at 2 with Cliff Lee tomorrow. Johnny is saving it for tonight.

Is John ok? Pettite sets a playoff record with most career post season wins and John just lays an egg. Maybe some Philly fan spiked his coffee? Or maybe John was stepping aside to let the first woman of the post season get her moment in the sun?
