When Yankees pitcher AJ Burnett took to the mound during last week’s game in Texas, he appeared to have a bruised right ear which he said happened in an accident in his workshop. During last night’s 4-3 win against the Orioles, he appeared with a black eye and discolored cheek.
However, according to Peter Botte at nydailynews.com, both he and Yankees manager Joe Girardi refused to give any comment on how Burnett got his latest injury. “I’m not going to comment on it, but I understand you guys have to ask,” Burnett said following the game.
