After noting that we gave away the best of this year's Yankee draft class for Raphael Soriano and Jose Feliciano, I listened and watched with great intensity to yesterday's prime broadcast of the 2011 amateur draft.
The Yankees, after all, have no position prospects in the minors ( Jesus? The Unstable Gary Sanchez? The over-rated Romine? The A ball pugilist Heathcoat?) and, if we are to have a future, we must re-stock effectively. Other than the Killer B's ( now only 2, maybe 1 still
is breathing ) and the aforementioned, the Yankees minor league system is rated dead last in terms of real help. No Jeters, No Marianos. No Bernies. No Jorge's. No Andy's.
Lot's of 32 year old Bobby Meachem's though.
So I watched, waited, and evaluated.
The picture, at right, pretty much sums up what I think we got.
