They arrived in full Yankwart regalia Thursday night, dressed as Harry, Snape, Draco, Swish, Tex and Grandy, to celebrate the magical season of Harrytolo Colon, who - unfortunately - may have just crossed over into the Indiana Andruw Jones Temple of Doom trilogy.*
Yes, the true believers of Yankeedom last night got to see their hero Muggle - our hero - perhaps fling his final spells unto the batting orders of the AL East. Let's not count him out - the Bartman has a few incantations left in his third chin o' tricks - but his future increasingly appears captured in the way Harry would describe to the ever-ripening fruit known as Emma Watson, after their ship, the Enterprise, survives a Klingon attack: "He's dead, Jim."
Only one spell now can save the Yankees spaceship from disaster: The reappearance of a magical, distant Nova.
NOTE: This, students of journalism, is called "Yankeeizing the national story."
