Chavez broke a bone in his left foot in May and now may miss even more time. Because of the foot injury, Chavez has been battling back problems as well. Recently, he had an abdominal issue which Girardi said was believed to be a kidney stone. “He’s having some back issues right now, so I can’t tell you when you’re going to get Chavez back — or if we’re going to get Chavez back,” Girardi said.
