Today, we're all just Marlin fans: The poem

We outspent all of Pakistan.
Our team, a solid gold sedan
To crush our foes, those mere tin cans...
Today, though, we’re all Marlin fans.

At the deadline, we stood pat.
The homerun was our favorite stat.
A lineup born from all-star bats...
Today, though, we’re just like the Nats.

Ron Darling said we’d pull ahead.
They always do, that’s what he said.
And now, our empire, lies in shreds...
Today, we’re Cinncinati Reds.

We stood so tall, like Stan the Man.
We mocked the lowly Redsock fan.
But scrap those celebration plans...
Today, our Yanks are also-rans.

Unlike Marlins fans, you don't have to look forward to dealing with Ozzie Guillen next year. May be cold comfort, but take it where you can.

Oh the poor Marlins. I wouldn't wish Oz on anyone. Even the Red Sox.

Well, OK, maybe the Red Sox, but I'd hate watching all those games against them if he was there.

At least he's in that other league now. Out of sight, out of earshot.
