Certainly they can squeeze Zoilo Almonte into this lineup. Career OPS of .523 . Plus, he's a switch-hitter! Maybe bat him cleanup?

He's still playing for the Chunichi Dragons. Batting average is on the interstate and he's 34! The epitome of a Ca$hole mid-season find! Cashie, go get him now, while you can!

I hate A-Rod as much as the next guy. But you know that if David Ortiz had given names, the headlines would all say, “Big Papi a hero again, cooperates with authorities, helps addicts get the help they need.”

Meanwhile, if I had $1 for every paper and website that used “ratted out” in today’s ARoid headline, I’d have almost as much money as Alex.

I agree with BBB. A-Rod is impossible to defend anymore.

But again...double standards abound. "Good guys" in the clubhouse who gave reporters plenty of access...are forgiven. Some, such as I-Rod, Big Papi, and Piazza, are even in the hall.

"Bad guys," who were surly or uncooperative, are villains forever.

And the real crime here? SOMEBODY leaked a huge, unredacted report of a major, DEA operation to the media. Greeeaaaat. Nothing like protecting all those innocent sources who put their lives on the line.

"Some, such as I-Rod, Big Papi, and Piazza, are even in the hall". Infuriating. And sooner or later Bonds, Sheffield, Manny, et al will be "rationalized" into the Hall. And I will spend my remaining years reading books, and hell, maybe even rock climbing, deep sea fishing, or fighting in some revolution where I'll never have to think about Manfred & The Degenerates.
