Well, Suzyn, I thank you...

Go Heal Yourself…”. I had a similar idea in mind.
Judge hosed on a third strike call. Is there a hitter who gets more bad calls than he? I don’t think so.
Tomorrow
Tomorrow
He’ll get sacked
Tomorrow
It’s only
A Day
AWAYYYYYYYYYY !
Not sure why Volpe broke for home on that comebacker, but you know it’s not an official game until a. Yankee makes an egregious baserunning blunder
Guess everyone has gone to bed….
Yankees win ….. Boone still manages on Friday in Houston.
WE ARE DOMINANT
WE ARE THE MIGHTY YANKEES
UNSTOPPABLE, YO
that was a haiku in three posts, for those still awake. I want AA to get his requisite click-throughs or he won't get paid by the people who run the big servers in the sky.
"catcher interference" by Ben Rice
My god, did Boone skip his class in "Pitching Substitutions 101"?
Well that was a squeaker of an inning. The company here is scintillating, but I'm afraid I'll just have to duck out for a bite to eat. Catch all of you charming lug nuts on the other side. Adios, amigos. Hiyo Siiiiilver!!!!!!
We're winning? Impossible.
Thanks - that was good for thousands
Mixed feelings. I want Bednar to do well but long term it's better if they lose.
Didn’t you mean Hiyo Reposado!!!!! ?
Exactly
X100
Maybe a nice infield error
"Mound Visit" is code for, "My balls itch and I'm feeling funny."
Wow. I'm going to run out and buy a Lotto ticket
Thuuuuuuuuuh Yankees win? Wtf?
That’s weird. The Yankees had more runs than the Rangers at the start of the 9th, AND at the end of the 9th. Not sure what that means.
B-b-b-bednar.
Ask me why I started to call Los Yanquis "Los Vaselinos" a few years ago. Just ask me...
Slippery and moist?,
turn and face the strain
They were demonstrating a physical act every night at the time.
woo hoo
Poo Poo
Put ‘em to Bed - Bednar
Been some dark for us all as fans. What price loyalty? Physical, mental and spiritual decline…
Been. A while…
boone could still be gone tomorrow
say your prayers
Hate him or Dislike him - its more jumping on the wagon

I never liked Mike or the Mad Dog, but I think I hated Mike more. What it does remind me, though, is that I used to ingest much more media back then - radio, TV, newspapers, websites - on the Yankees. From the first day of spring training to the last out of the last game, I was totally plugged in, used to walk around with a portable radio, the whole 9 yards. They really lost me over the years and, basically, this is my (happy) last stand. I can hang with you guys, but the whole Yankee universe bullshit mediaverse means very little to me now. Oh yeah, there is Keefe. I read him every few days or so. And I'll always read about the ghosts of Yankees past....thanks, Hoss...
what's amusing about the above link is how impatiently disgusted the three hosts are in the background, waiting through the Dog's rant before they can chime in....
While he splutters and churns. I was watching them, as well. But they get paid to listen to him, which is more than we get out of it.
Hey, Bitty, right back at you! I had the same sort of progression. Used to read two papers a day, at one point. I didn't listen to sports radio, although Francesca did interview me on some short-lived cable show he had, about an article I wrote (Hilarious green room: Eamonn Coghlan was trying to pick up Lisa Loeb.).
But I digress. Life is only long enough now for friends. That's what I find here. The New York Yankees? Don't know if they're any more real that the Strat-o-matic games I used to play.
I am with you, Hoss, 100%. It's where I am now in life. But there's a tiny, nagging thought. If they somehow had a baseball guy who could resurrect the magic, put together a team - a real team, with real chemistry - and bring back Yankee style baseball, would we be so blasé, so resigned?
I remember taking my dad to a game at some point in 04 or 05. He was in his mid 80s, my mom had died, and he wasn't that engaged with baseball. We were sitting there in the old stadium, chatting and he was more there for me and my brother than for the game, which went on in the background.
At some point, though, the game was at a critical point and a Yankee was on second - might have been Melky - when someone punched a hit into the infield and Melky (I'm fairly certain it was him) came churning around third and was coming into home for a close play. My dad was suddenly up on his feet, pumping his fist and rooting for him and he was just like - I'd imagine - the young kid who grew up with the Dyckman Oval, who was a rabid Coogan's Bluff Giant's fan, who had watched all those games in the glory days of the last dynasty, sitting next to my mom throughout the late 90s.
In other words, the magic was there and baseball fulfilled its primary function - for us as fans, at least. Maybe the greatest crime that Hal and Brian have committed is to rob us of that. Yes, it's a business - always was - but there's room for magic, even in this filthy, tech-bro, AI-driven age. But not now, not with this team. We must wait and enjoy the real meaningful things in life now and maybe one day we will get to the promised land again. I love you all.
