Frank Lee I'm shocked that Stang didn't think that Cole was going to make it to 20 wins.
Mets won today, but it was generally a sloppy game. Boy, is Pittsburgh a bad team! O'Neill Cruz misjudged two balls in CF in the first inning, handing the Mets an extra three runs. I move that we strip the right to call himself "O'Neill" from him.
Pittsburgh's supposed to maybe just maybe contend this year.
Stang is the optimal optimist.
But, even he knows the Yankees politboro will lie to us.
I thought I was being foolishly optimistic, but decided to not think too much because it would just depress me.
Thankfully there is no way that Judge can strike out four times today . . .
Wow, Hoss, BTR999, and me all predict exactly 83 wins! I didn't look at anyone's predictions when I made mine. Great minds think alike!
And 13 Bit through El Duque, a total of seven of us, think 79 to 86 wins. I really do think this team ends up somewhere in that range. On the low end, they won't make the playoffs. On the high end, maybe they'll make the playoffs (and then get booted out in the first round).
What was Stang drinking when he made his prognostication? Must be powerful stuff! Holy hell!
Rufus nailed last year's prediction with 94. (I was a touch high with 96. But if not for that stupid Ba-Boone....) Defending 2025 Prognostication Champion Rufus running it back this year with 94 again! We'll see ... we'll see ....
I'm a realist
