Thanks for the memories, Moose!
Moose retires!

Mike Mussina, after an 18-year career, has called it quits.
That now leaves Wang and Joba as our starters next year. I hope each is prepared to throw 700 innings!
Moose should have a big, ear-to-ear, or I guess, an antler-to-antler smile. He went out on his own terms, and should someday have a spot in Cooperstown.
Congrats, Mike. 270 wins in the AL East during the Steroid Era is quite the accomplishment!
Paging CC! I repeat, paging CC and another pitcher to the Bronx!

Do We Dare Believe in Moose?
Thursday, April 3, 2008
"In all, though, Mussina seemed encouraged."
That's what T-Kep tells us.
"In all, though, Mussina seemed encouraged."
Well, I'm encouraged. In fact, I'm smellin' Wild Card, 'cause the '07 Yanks are back!
1. Mussina gives up 4 in 5!
2. Jason E. Giambi flubs first play, plays another his clubfoot, later muffs foul.
3. Down by 5 in seventh, A-Rod clubs majestic 2-run blast!
4. Farnsworth emerges, inspiring Susyn speach about resurrection, then gives up three bangs -- hard single, smash that A-Rod turns into DP, then a triple off the wall by the speedy Lyle Overbay.
Differences between this year and last?
1. Some Swiss dork is about to turn on the Large Hadron Collider, creating a black hole that will turn all of Earth into the New York Knicks.
2. Britney Spears has emerged, inspiring TV ads about resurrection, on bad TV sitcom.
3. A week after visit from Dick Cheney, the Iraqis invade themselves, expecting to be greeted as liberators.
4. LaTroy Hawkins.

Wang, Mussina: "The only Yankees to stay dry."
Big news from Tampa...
"More than a few players were caught outside in the bullpen when the clouds opened up, yet only two -- veteran Mussina and the 27-year-old Wang -- had fleet enough feet to find shelter. The two huddled together beneath an overpass to wait out the storm and took up just enough room so that they were the only Yankees to stay dry."
