Phil Hughes update: He's Alive! He's Alive!

After three long weeks with no contact, Franchise Blogger Phil Hughes has reached out to his devoted minions to let them know he has not forgotten them.

Here is the message, three weeks in the making:

Hope everyone is doing well. Not too much to report lately from Tampa. I was in shock when I found out the extent of my rib injury. Not the best way to start off the season to say the least. I will post more when there is more news.

I didn’t get a chance to watch last night’s season finale. So don’t spoil it. Haha. Later

... and the followers were pleased. These comments went up almost immediately:

"young pitchers are supposed to have growing pains, even the best prospect of 2007 Mr. Phil Hughes. get well soon brother, i cant wait to see you come back in the 2nd half and making those sox/met fans who doubted you eat crow."

"Thanks for posting. It’s always great to hear from you! I know you’re going through a rough time right now, but things will definitely get better :-D PS: I think the glasses will work for you–I actually think they make a pitcher look more intimidating… just look how much more badass Edwar looks with his on"

"I can’t wait until I get to see your glasses! I got glasses recently and they take a little while to get used to but you end up liking them. It is good to see you are updating again!"

Tonight's Real Comments to Phil Hughes’ Blog: The gall of Manimal529 brings ire

Tonight, after the greedy Manimal raised a tiff, the blogofaithful gathered to remind us what is important. (BTW: This is real. We can't make up shit like this.)

manimal529 (17:39:18) :
I have a question, is there internet access in the clubhouse? There is no reason why you cant put up a small entry after every outing.

whozat (17:59:40) :
“There is no reason why you cant put up a small entry after every outing.”
it’s Phil’s blog. If he doesn’t feel like putting up an entry after every outing, that’s reason enough for him not to do so. Frankly, I’m just thankful that Phil has given us this window into his life at all.

Becky (18:03:30) :
Don’t worry about us. Enjoy your family time.

jessicayanks (18:04:54) :
family time is definitley important. so have fun with that and enjoy… we dont expect you to update us every single day. we all know how busy you are!

bxbomber44 (18:23:57) :
i think i can speak for all of us when i say it’s cool to put family time ahead of the blog…no biggie

defensewins (18:37:22) :
Enjoy your family, and agent.

yankeechick78 (20:36:28) :
“There is no reason why you cant put up a small entry after every outing.’
I’d rather have Phil preparing for a start, and not posting to us. Give me a break. he doesn’t have to do this. When ever he posts is fine.

yankeechick78 (20:38:44) :
And it is posts like the one asking why he can’t constantly post to us, that will scare him away and not make him want to post at all. You can’t just want and want.

Exclusive: We stole Phil Hughes' camera!

You might have seen Phil Hughes' photographic skills displayed on his blog.

He posted this shot of Mike Mussina's locker:

Not satisfied with that lousy shot, we wanted more. A "friend" of ours happened to send these pictures, "obtained" from Hughes' phone last week:

Phil gets around.

Helping out our brother in blogging ...

Click on the "About Me" tab on the blog of our soon-to-be good friend Phil Hughes, and you get this:

"This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many pages like this one or sub-pages as you like and manage all of your content inside of WordPress."

Obviously, Phil is far too modest to write his own biography. Can we help him out here?

"He was born in a manger, and wrapped in swaddling clothes ..."

Oh wait, that's Jesus Montero. My bad.

So, anyone care to take a stab at a proper bio blurb for our friend Phil?

Our future ace needs us.
