Because I haven't been. I expected a rain delay so I walked the dog and didn't get home and turn the radio on til now, 7:54. I know Andy is pitching like a man with a broken back, but how is John doing?
- Has he filthied himself again?
- More importantly, did he eff up any promos? Companies pay good money for those and he's got to hit them out every time.
- Has Suzyn demonstrated faith in him? Has her voice squeezed his voice's hand at all? Or is he out there all alone?

CLARIFICATION: It's OK to talk about Dave Bing, but it went on forever. And the thrust of it was: Dave Bing has the same name as Dave Bing.
MILESTONE: John is now comfortable saying "Saltalamacchia."
UPDATE: After a rocky start, John has settled in and he's calling a smooth game. If he doesn't have to call a win tonight and we're rained out tomorrow, he could be back in top form for the weekend.
I want to make something clear, particularly to new readers. There is no bigger John Sterling fan outside of Edgewater, NJ, than yours truly. I want John Sterling to succeed. Suzyn seems to be taking charge a little more than usual. Nothing too invasive, just helping Thu-uh Voice push through this midseason slump.
Suzyn mentioned Dave Bing. I think she did it to make John feel better, after he made his correction for the Benson thing.
And John took Dave Bing and ran 100 yards with it.
Pipe down, Wondercat, or Superfrankenstein and Fraud will rig it so Suzyn is the next Yankee Employee of the Month.*

Which is unusual, it must be said. This season, John & Suzyn have gotten more run support than any AL broadcasters outside of Tampa.

A walk off warble is always a treat but perhaps we should look at the bigger picture. With Tampa, Boston and the Mets coming up we are in store for some solid warbles regardless of late inning heroics. Lets not wear out the pipes on games against the AL West.
