Every year we have a Jose Veras:
A guy we're absolutely convinced will pitch well... once he gets command.
Never does.
Edwar Ramirez. Sean Henn. TJ Beam. Alex Graman. Sam Marsonek begets Alex Graman, who begets TJ Beam, who begets Sean Henn, who begets Edwar Ramirez... who begot Jose Veras.
Today, we pulled the pin on Jose, after Brian Bruney was activated.
Last year, Jose pitched well for a stretch, after the season no longer mattered. But there's not a Yank fan in captivity who didn't flinch at his image. He could turn an 8-run lead into a nail-biter.
I wonder how old he is. He's listed as 28. He sure doesn't look 28.
I'm betting nobody grabs him, and he's in Scranton 10 days from now.

If only Bruney can stay healthy for more than one appearance, we'll be stronger.
Yankees should have gotten rid of Tomko instead.
Veras is a gonner. We have much more depth then the media guys us credit for!!
