Every time Joe calls on MO to hold the fort when the Yanks are tied at home in the 9th, he blows it.
I blame Joe.
Doesn't he ever learn?
The Yanks didn't hit at all today when it really mattered, but they did battle back to tie the damn game in the 8th.
Mariano made like Karl Farnsworth, as he so often does in these particular, " save the tie" situations.
He got lit up like a porn parlor in downtown Tampa.
Phil Coke is simply putrid against lefties. Joe should know this also.
Send him now to the chicken prison. Let him try and find corn kernels for food.

My issue is why even take Sabathia out of the game at that point. He pitched a pretty solid game except the Aybar bomb, he had settled back in and the pitch count was solid.
You've got an old school guy who loves finishing the game, give him a chance. With the top of lineup coming up, you know he is gonna throw gas to get the W/CG. Worst case he struggles and you bring in MO.
Coke Zero sucks, dont want to talk about it right now.
Finally, I get a stomach ache when I think about how during the offseason we immediatly outbid everyone for Allan James Burnett and yet we sat around and hoped Tex would work out? This guy was pretty friggin close to playing the next decade behind Jason Bay. I'm having a Maalox moment.
I'm with Wondercat. Why take CC out? He was under his usual pitch count of 1,000. Mo can't handle tie games. A no-brainer.
Best post ever from you, Alpo.
Different meds? Good for you!
