Open Letter to Joe Girardi: We cannot win as a beer league team

Dear Madam or Sir:

I love Nick Swisher. But we're becoming a team of Nick Swishers.

HR or zip.

Look at our numbers. Everybody is on track to hit 30. It takes John Sterling a half-inning to give the Power Report. Arod has become a dinger or nothing hitter. It's going to spread.

Last weekend, when Randy Choate -- Randy Choate -- saved for Tampa, our final gasp at bats were mammoth drives to the wall. All we needed were singles. We hit long flies.

Last night, with Gardner on second in a one-run game, Jorge's final whack: Long fly to the wall. We needed a single.

The Redsocks are hitting the singles.

We weren't supposed to be HR-happy team. The new stadium has turned everybody into Dave Kingman. You must address this. Teixeira is leading the league in HRs. He's not supposed to do this. Remember how home runs corrupted Giambi? Defenses are even overshifting for Matsui!

If you don't watch out, we'll become a team of Nick Swishers.

I love Nick Swisher. But the AL East is not a beer league.

Yeah! Finally someone is pointing out that Clueless Joe has been Lucky during their recent winning streak. This team will go nowhere until the management takes some positive steps. A few examples, get rid of Angel Berroa and bring up Frankie Rodriguez or Shelly Duncan. Release Matsui, we need out fielders not crippled DHs, Wang needs to be either put on the 60 day DL for some reason or demoted to the Bullpen. Give the infielders a day off, Jeter Cano and A Rod look tired and Pena is a good fielder that when he plays can hit9he is fast too). how about playing Posada a little less and let the younger more athletic Cervelli play 3 times a week behind the plate, Posada is the reason the pitching looks bad look it up when he catches Burnett or Sabathia they are throwing more fastballs and not "pitching', Posada is a good DH as is Damon hence why Matsui needs to go away. The biggest thing to do is get ruid of that Clown Swisheror stick him on the bench where he belongs, Duncan or Rodriguez are twice the fielder and hitter.

I do agree that Joe is fairly unimaginative in the use of personnel, bordering on clueless.

Against Wakefield, for example, he should have started Gardner in center and Melky in RF.

They play much better defense than Swisher and they have speed to steal off of Wakefield's knucklers.

They, along with Damon should be our every day outfield.

Unfortunately, Damon has no arm at all, but he can catch the ball without faling all over himself.

I have the same complaint about Girardi as to pitching; it is obvious to all that Chien-Ming has lost his confidence.

And Hughes was building his. So Joe fouls them both upby starting Chien and sending Hughes to the pen.

And using MO, at home, in tie games...I know it is the "formula," but when the formula doesn't match the player, you do something else.
