Gary Sanchez Travels To Bar In South Carolina

Once upon a time, after a decade of losing, the Yankees had a top draft pick signed.

All the world exclaimed how he was going to be a superstar.

He was a lefty; threw in the low 100's; once struck out 27 players in a row in a high school game, and was labeled a, " can't miss " player.

A hall of fame player in training.

After threatening to play ball at a local community college in order to coax millions from the Yankees, this 230 SAT student finally signed, noting that he could move his mom from a trailer into a 12,300 square foot mansion in a trailer park.

By now, you understand I am recounting the tale of Brien Taylor. The best Yankee prospect who never pitched an inning in the big leagues.

Brien, of course, is infamous for choosing to return to a bar to avenge a recent beating left upon his brother by the natives, and he emerged from this fracas with little honor or dignity, as well as a broken shoulder. His brother still drinks too much and offends large people in John Deere hats.

Anyway, Brien's lack of judgement cost him his left arm's ability to pitch. He lost fame and fortune. And, by now, I'm pretty sure he lost his mother's mansion. He also failed to measure up at community college and was last seen sweeping the floor of the bar, before the morning crowd arrives.

Gary Sanchez, our top catching prospect ( way better than Jesus, Romine and Jorge ), recently showed us a major character flaw. Turns out he sucks.

So, instead of working on his lack of ability, he went to see a re-run of "Panda 2" at the local theater while his team was playing a game nearby.

When last heard from, Gary was headed to Brien's bar in South Carolina. Where they can both talk about how great they might have been.
