Game Thread: Cody Poteet vs. Logan Webb

The Big Strawberry fills in for Schmidt.

Putting the game thread up early so I can concentrate on the Rangers.

Here are some little known facts about Poteet.

1) There is a town named Poteet.

Poteet, Texas

City in Atascosa County, Texas, United States

I think Judge actually is a Martian. This is unreal.

He may turn into a pretty good ballplayer...

Speaking of... the actual Martian has four HRs in his first eight games in AA. He hit an absolute bomb tonight. Spencer hit a triple tonight as well.

DFA Mikey Glassman. See if you can get a bucket of batting practice balls for him.

Stanton kills a rally and Big Head and Aw-shucks can't figure out where the martian can play the very next at bat?

If they can't DFA him, then at least Ellsbury him.

Stanton should be the team chef

JD will have to force the Yankees’ hand if he wants to be called up b4 September, barring injury.

Wells didn’t run out a grounder. Seeing a lot of Wells lately. Perhaps too much.

Say, what’s going on with official scoring this year? Nothing is an error? Soto’s triple should’ve been a hit and error. One complaint about Soto: he doesn’t always hustle

Doug, the Rangers and the Knicks are the penance I pay for being a Yankees and Packers fan all these years. It sort of balances out, karmic-ly speaking.

Oh, and as for Poteet? Was he reet?

HoraceClarke66 said...

Yeah, Stanton has to go. We just have to keep playing him until he breaks, at least. Which shouldn't be hard.

You guys are wanting to crucify Stanton, but his OPS+ is 107, while Rizzo is at OPS+ is 95. First base is the true DEAD ZONE. And how about that?! Stanton goes yard.

It really is impressive how that the Yankees have hit two of the best pitchers in baseball the last two nights. Not an easy place to hit, especially at night. Well you guys know that!

Holmes is struggling as always. Kay: you can make the argument he is the best closer in baseball.

Last complaint…if I see that commercial with the fucking Chicago song one more time, I’m gonna scream

Alternatively - it could also be something like this:

The UHUHUHUHUHUHUH AAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH Yankees win not that I was even awake enough to smell the mouse farting in my nostrils

HoraceClarke66 said...

Wait, what's that? The Yankees won?

Is it The City that Never Sleeps or the People in the City that Never Sleeps?

999—completely agree about the "25 or 6-4" ad.

First few times: cute baby, cute wife, and at the end, she wants to have sex with him. What's not to like? But it's EVERYWHERE! I'm not even sure what it's about. Some kind of delivery service? Amazon? Don't they have a ton of money so maybe they could do a SECOND commercial? Or something?

Anyway, as I understand it, the Yankees won.
