Happy birthday, Bern!

And may Cody Bellinger continue the celebration Saturday.

Me, I'm going to Cologne to visit friends, so will be deprived of watching the last games before the break. And why is the break seemingly getting later and later in the season? Used to mark the halfway point, but not anymore.

Must have something to do with money. Everything does. Ask Soto.

Maybe I can catch some of the game on the Audacy app. Haven't listened to Suzyn in a while.

By the way, I started smoking again. I know, I know. But adjusting to this move to Germland ain't easy. Serious Manhattan withdrawal symptoms.

I'm hoping to get back to New York this fall, but can't be sure of when. I'd love to see any of you guys when I'm there.

Six losses, five wins. Streaky.

We went to Cologne last fall. Rained - hard - most of the day, so it was pretty dark & chilly (but wearing hat in the church was verboten). The cathedral is ENORMOUS. Made our way up one of the towers - staircase was very narrow (& wet - was an adventure), but worth it to get up close & personal with a gargoyle or two, & see the city from that height. Hope you have good weather.

What brand smoke have you smoking ?

( apparently if you just resist inhaling you should be better off. from what i’ve heard - it is the worse part of cigarettes)

JM...may I suggest a nice international smoke?
Specifically, a nice, mild Cuban with some of Amsterdam's finest red Lebanese hash injected. Smooth, mellow, and relaxing. A blunt warning to stress and anxiety!

Beautiful town. Did they tell you the elves story? JM, try to find anything to keep from smoking; that shit'll kill you—and without even the pleasant buzz (and awful hangovers) that alcohol provides.

Ugh, I’m a day behind (been a busy weekend), but thank you, JM! I appreciate the post! Have a wonderful time in Cologne. (And you are not missing much not seeing these weekend games). … I actually had a blast at the game, the trip was a gift from my sons, and they picked a great game to attend. The offense from Cody and the defense from Judge, plays all the Billy Joel songs played between innings, made for a fairly boisterous and fun crowd. And the Billy Joel bobblehead has him wearing a jersey with No. 1 on it, which I will take as a tribute to Bobby Murcer (even though I know it wasn’t). … Who knows, maybe I’ll end my semi-retirement from actual posts and put up something on the trip.
