1. The Blue Jays, having signed Dylan Cease, are said to be pursuing Alex Bregman. The Yankees have Paul Blackman, Blackburn, whatever.
2. The O's, having signed Pete Alonso, just traded for Shane Baz. The Yankees have Paul Blackman, Blackburn, whatever.
3. The Mets have signed Luke Weaver. The Yankees have Paul Blackman, Blackburn, whatever.
4. USA is bombing boats in the Caribbean. The Yankees have Paul Blackman, Blackburn, whatever.
5. It's the shortest day of the year. And the Yankees have... whatever.

Of course, it's all a big "fuck you" and it's in our faces, just like the DOJ's latest flaunting of a federal law. We are nothing - that's what it's saying to the fans. Do they really think they can win the Series with the same team that blew it AGAIN this year? They may. They may be arrogant enough and deluded enough. It could be that they are believing what their hand-picked sycophants are telling them - "them" being Hal.
Or it could be that they just don't care. It's ALWAYS been about the money. Hal does not care about winning. He just wants to add to his billions because he'll never have enough to feel secure, happy or safe. He is a tortured, small man who does not know what real life is like, with its victories, defeats, and joys. His only metric in life, the only thing he can measure himself by, is cash.
Fuck Hal, fuck the Yankees, fuck Brian. I'll leave Boone out of this one because he is just a tool. He may have signed on to be a meat puppet, but he's a pathetic piece of shit who sells himself out to speak before business gatherings of like-minded tools.
It's going to be a long season. Prepare for the bullshit tsunami - first prepping us for greatness, then making excuses for failures, then justifying all that they did. I'm tired.
I have to look up who Paul Blackman is. It's that kind of offseason.
And I see on Yanks Go Yard that the Martian is hitting .183 in Dominican ball.
Oh boy.
Is it Blackman or Blackburn? These borderline players are confusing.
It's Blackburn. Not Blackman. Whatever.
JM - I think he's taking all of his ABs from the right side. He's not good at hitting righty and is trying to get better. They would be better off dumping the switch hitting idea and let him learn to hit lefties from the left side.
Amen, Bitty! This is yet a new level of deception and idiocy—always when I think it can't get any worse. I can't see how this team finishes higher than third in the AL East, and they are a likely fourth.
Since Hal is a reliable weathercock for his fellow owners, I suspect they are quite serious about going to the mattresses over the basic agreement next year. To which I say...please, oh please.
Hal has killed the Yankees as we knew them, and I'd be so happy to say a few words over the grave and move on. Another 30 years of autopsy and postmortem before he kicks the bucket (long after I'm gone)?
No, thank you. Blow it up, blow it all up, you billionaires v. millionaires. Lockout, strike, whatever. Something new, something likely better will rise from the charred ground.
We'll have baseball again. We just won't have Halball.
Oh, and talk about prop bets? No matter who has spread the rumor that Bellinger wants $50 million a year for 8 years, I bet he signs for less than half of that.
And I would also love to bet that Cashie keeps talking about that number as to why the Yanks couldn't "afford" to bring him back.
Apparently, he's a British theater producer. Wikipedia lists this as his most notable achievement:
"Notable and notorious productions during his tenure include an adaptation of the Marquis De Sades 120 Days of Sodom"
Perfect metaphor for the Yankees season.
The circle is unbroken.
