Runk Blog ends. The Dodgers and Redsocks ate my lunch

Four days of intense drinking and watching the Yankees bungle away the season.

Tarik Skubal is a Dodger.

Anthony Volpe is a Yankee.

The Redsocks are now two behind in the loss column.

They will soon overtake us.

There is no certainty that Aaron Judge will return.

Without him, we're dead.

Today, Brian Cashman will try to trade our way back to the top.

Be afraid.

Closer to falling behind the carmines than catching the devils.

Another insanely constructed roster courtesy of the intern.

A Picasso of a baseball team

I have a bet down on Kalshi it was Genny Cream, covered over at Polymarket with LaBatt Blue.

Another shit show yesterday. On national tv, so of course they'd lose. 2 fucking runs off David Peterson, the ex-Met, a 6 ERA pitcher. If memory serves, they never hit him when he was on the Mets either.

Sgt Peterson: Ha Ha, you not! You little cunt, when the camera isn't rolling, I'm going to cut your throat and carve out your liver!

What the fucking hell was that hit & run with Ali Sanchez & Caballero? Why did fucking Boone authorize a hit & run there? You know, the game's momentum suddenly seemed to do a 180 with that crazy play. Caballero with a terrible swing & Sanchez out by half the base path. What the fuck?

Is it just me or does Ali Sanchez look like a much better hitter than Austin Wells?

You cannot correct years of institutional malfeasance at the trade deadline. It is further malfeasance to even try.

Spencer Jones with another good game. But totally wasted by the horrible relief pitching.

Utica Club is in the running.

So, I thought I heard the Cubbies had terrible pitching? No starters, horrendous relievers. Narry a run against the Cubs bullpen. None yesterday. None the day before. Battlin' Bronx Bastards are makin' everyone's pitchin' look stellar.

Hammer, they will do that because they suck.

That's a pretty great description, Rufus.

Not only do the Yankees suck, but that damned Boone makes it much worse. Another horrendous managing job yesterday. Besides the stupid hit & run with your slowest runner and the strikeout prone Caballero, Boone failed to pinch hit Rice at the right time. He shoulda pinch hit for Goldschmidt earlier, when they had a better chance. As I've said before, Goldschmidt & Grisham get way too much playing time and it's killing the team.

...just not nearly as enjoyable.

Okay, this is funny as hell.

Well, you know. Boone is an idiot.

I remember when we used to be the Dodgers.

For once, there is nothing to fear. Cashman can trade anyone on this team and it won't matter. We will still, at best, lose in round one of the playoffs. He can trade Lombard for a single A prospect about to have Tommy John surgery, and it won't matter. He can give Boston Aaron Judge for three random picks in next ear's amateur draft, and it won't matter. The reality is this team is poorly led, and has a loser ( ie 'we are participating") mentality. YO really think a team with MacMahon, Cabby, Rosario and Sanchez ( not to mention Wells ) is a player away from winning? There is no need to pay attention and there is nothing to fear. Except maybe the next elections.
