Open Season On John Sterling

John Sterling Under Fire

Now a bald New York Daily News writer has decided to make a name for himself by knocking the Voice Of The Yankees. Human nature, right? Aim for the best, the biggest, the most successful and just knock them down. Just like apes do, Suzyn. Just like apes with a column to fill, no idea what to write, and no better muse than a month-old New York Post.

What really hurts this time is that we might have unwittingly helped the bald News writer. His climactic piece of evidence is John's A-Bomb by Hideki gaffe, which our own El Duque recorded for posterity. The world answered with a rousing "hip-hip-hurrah!", but now the whole thing comes back to bite us, maybe.

UPDATE: I see El Duque linked to the bald Daily News writer, too. This is big, and I'm afraid it's the beginning of something awful. Next year we might not have a John & Suzyn.

This guy is a joke. “New York Sports Media Columnist”? Job duties likely include growing disgusting facial hair and bitching about what he steals from Awful Announcing every morning. Someone needs to call themselves a “New York Sports Media Columnist Critic” and bitch at this guy for the way he sucks such copious amounts of donkey dick, while in turn staking claim to his title of Lamest Job Title Ever.

If they attack John, they'll want Suzyn next. Once the Driven by Jeep mob tastes blood, its thirst for vengeance will be unquenchable.

We must surround the Lowe's Broadcast Booth. Lowes... let's protect something together.

So Raismann takes aim at Sterling. There's one thing to remember, folks ... Raissman is a hack.

Quick, take the "how big a hack is Raissman" test ... here goes.

Go to Raismann's page at the News Web site. Pick five of his columns at random. See if you can find:

1. him using a quote from ANYONE that wasn't said on a broadcast or taken from someone else's column.

2. him having ANY attribution for anything in his column.

It's funny when someone who doesn't even pretend to have any concept of basic journalistic standards bitches about what others in the business are doing. (Don't say "he's a columnist, it's just his opinion." He wrote that Kornhiser was basically fired from MNF and they used the "fear of flying" thing as a cover for it, and cited NO sources other than saying "it's no secret that ...")

And for someone who loves to call ESPN folks "clowns" all the time, I bet he'd cut off a frickin' finger for a job there.
