GIRARDI: Have you seen him?
MARIANO: That depends on who you mean.
GIRARDI: Him. Of the bridge. He was supposed to come.
MARIANO: I have not seen him.
GIRARDI: I called upon him. I thought he would come.
MARIANO: The one who came was not him.
GIRARDI: Tell me, the person you saw... he walked another leadoff hitter?
MARIANO: He walked another leadoff hitter.
GIRARDI: Then who was the one who came?
MARIANO: That depends on who you mean.

Wow, you guys are so sophisticated and literary and whatnot. Still waiting for a Red Sox 2009 season and/or Theo Epstein's offseason plans vs. driving off a bridge in Chappaquiddick metaphor...
Thats silly. Everyone knows the gritty small market dirty dirt mudders never say die. Theyll probably hold a bake sale this off season or have a car wash and save up for some more pitching depth. I hear Nolan Ryan wants to make a mid season return next year. Thats all upside.
