Girardi's crackdown shows C-C who's boss

Today, the Yankiverse knows who is mentally running the show:

Big Joe G.

News that Joe had mentally pulled CC Sabathia from the final inning of Sunday's no-hitter, regardless of what would happen in the 8th, shows once and for that Girardi is in complete speculative command of his team.

It took guts and grit to speculatively pull Sabathia from that game, knowing that the star hurler would surely protest the loss of his first no-hitter. But Joe showed strength and fortitude, mentally removing Sabathia from the game, regardless of how the pitcher would feel. Moreso, it showed mental foresight and focus. It was one of the greatest speculative decisions ever mentally made, and when it happened -- (thankfully, it didn't need to cause a stir, because the no-hitter ended) -- it set a strict, tough, Vince Lombardian standard for Yankee speculative, mental decision-making.

There will be no mental prima donas on this Yankee team.

Congratulations, Joe Girardi, for taking the reins of Yankee Speculative and Mental Commander-in-Chief.

Why did he say anything about this?
Didn't he realize it wouldn't go over well?
Was he letting them know what he'll do when somebody actually does get through 8 no-hit innings?
I'm usually in Girardi's corner, but this was just stupid.
