Is There Any Magic Hidden In Scranton?

What if Javier Vazquez is really his sucky old

self ?

What if Phil Hughes tires of pitching simulated games, and by the time he gets a real game start he is so removed from real hitters who are trying to beat him, he forgets who he is and what he is supposed to be?

What if Chan HO is not the guy who pitched well for three innings the other day, but is the home run derby King of his first outing?

What if David Robertson keeps giving up hits to every first batter he faces?

Is there someone of value back in Yankee coal country? I'm pretty sure it isn't Marc Melancon, the annual disappointment. It isn't our ambidextrous dude, because he hasn't made it to anthracite country yet.

Duque, please give us someone to hope for. Amongst all those endless lumps of coal, is there not one Yankee pitcher who might be a diamond some day?

I'll tell you who's in Scranton: Kei Igawa and his Japanese entourage.

John and Suzyn said it, so it must be true.
