AJ Burnett: The poem

Robbie Cano,
Great, doncha know!
Jorge Posada,
Love him a lotta!
Russell Martin,
True Yankee Spartan!
AJ Burnett,
Jury out yet.

Mariano Rivera,
Best of his era!
Andruw Jones,
Wish we had clones!

Last night is why I don't consider CC a real ace and why he gets passed over for the Cy Young even when he has more wins than anyone else. The guy just has too many games where he gives up 3, 4, 5 runs. The ERA is just too high. He is a phenomenal #2 and a damn good #1 on a smaller market team, but not here.

Soriano is a head case. Flat out. A-Rod and Tex are going through a mid-life crisis. Jeter has returned to earth, at least temporarily. Even if he comes through, Gardner and Grandy are not going to carry us to Valhalla. The power center of the lineup hits like my grandmother, and she's been dead for many, many years, may the Mick rest her soul.

Another postseason, another exposure of the flaws that allow us to be a big winner against record-fattening second-tier teams and losers against the rest. Hell, even Boston cleaned our clocks again this year, and they're a bunch of drunks and whining babies.

Oh, wait, drunks and whining babies--they're from Boston, that's kind of redundant to mention.
