I cannot watch Aroldis Chapman sweat any more

El Chapo is melting down, literally.

And you thought CC sweats? This guy's a running faucet. I don't recall him sweating so vividly last year. He's the Jonestown Flood. We should start building an arc.

I think he hurt himself tonight, breaking to first on the last out. If ever there was a 10-day tweak sent from heaven, this might be it. He needs a break, and so do we, before the season floats away.

THIS IS ONE INJURY THAT MAY BE HEAVEN SENT!

PLEASE LET IT BE ENOUGH OF A TWEAK TO BE AT LEAST A 15 DAY DL OR MORE.

THE SECOND HE GETS TO THE MOUND, THE SWEAT STARTS POURING OFF HIM.

THEN, THE PITCHES START DARTING EVERYWHERE EXCEPT OVER THE PLATE.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT JOE GIRARDI IS THIS HARD HEADED- ....CONTINUALLY BRINGING A MAN INTO THE GAME TO CLOSE IT OUT, THAT CAN'T THROW STRIKES.

HE IS GIVING UP RUNS EVERY TIME HE COMES IN!

IT'S ALMOST EQUIVALENT TO BRINGING IN TYLER CLIPPARD TO CLOSE!...IT'S ALMOST GETTING TO BE THAT BAD!

YET GIRARDI CAN'T AND WON'T MAKE A SIMPLE TWEAK TO THE LATE INNING PECKING ORDER.

I GUESS HE CAN LIVE WITH THE DECISION TO RUIN OUR ENTIRE SEASON BASED ON HIS BINDER PRINCIPLES....

I CAN'T.

Don't like to wish people injuries, but if Joey Blue-Binders is so goddamned hidebound he feels he HAS to keep testing the strength of peoples' hearts night after night by sending out El Chapo, then yes, All-Caps, I do hope Chapo earns himself a fort-night or so off.

Perhaps in the meantime, someone else (D-Rob?? Greenie?? Dellin??) will step up and do so well that Joey can't possibly bring Chapo back & put him in the closer's role...I know, wishful thinking (sigh).

Ye Gods!! Even a three-run lead isn't safe anymore! If we make it four or more, and not a "save" situation, only then would we be likely to get a competent BP piece to close out the game - - let's face it.

How much longer is he going to keep running "nice guys" Txxd Frazier and Ty Wade out there?? Why the be-jeezus can't he be savvy enough to put Headley back at third, Cooper at first, and keep Ty Wade on the BENCH - - and not DH Gregorius?? URK.

it's a real injury, too, not an "oblique" that just happens to stay tweaked until the exact day and hour the team needs that player on the field again. amazing miracles of modern medicine how that works out.

Quite odd how these injury thingies can be predicted.

LB (No J), while I agree wholeheartedly on the Frazier principle, I'm a little more on board with giving Wade a legitimate chance to fail under the "play the damn kids" principle. He may end up a bench player in the end, and certainly Torreyes has earned his way into the lineup one way or another, but I'd rather see Wade get reps at second, Ronnie T. less than great at third and Headley at first (if he needs to be anywhere) than have to cringe watching Headley make yips-infused throws across the diamond ever again.

As for what that does to Cooper's playing time, keep him around for platooning, spelling Headley, late innings and so on until you see what Bird does in his rehab starts. If Bird comes back on fire -- or comes back at all -- then you bench Headley immediately, bring up Andujar to play third, send Cooper down to play first full-time and thank the Yankee gods for five minutes of a young, capable infield before somebody gets hurt again and more shuffling is required.

No Yankee pitcher ever sweated as much on the mound than Steve "White Lines" Howe after a week-long bender.
