Forgot something. Miller was head of A&R at Columbia Records (or was it CBS at that point?), and he hated rock music, so he passed on signing Presley, Buddy Holly, and...

...the Beatles.

The reason is that rock is just too fast to be song by the sing-along-gang. But, as the apocryphal story goes, he tried to do a cover of Louie Louie and let's just say it didn't end well.

Hoss and Richie,

The visuals are horrible. Much better to watch 40 men with beards. But is was the only version available on YouTube.

Well, Doug, I actually took the bait and watched that youtube video.

It occurred to me that you would have to be that good to make it look that bad.

Jerry could dance pretty well for a white guy, and his singing reminded me of Peter Boyle in his role in Young Frankenstein:
