The Eastern League's top three hitters play for Trenton.
Of the three, Park is probably the primo prospect. He's 23, was signed in the 2014 international teenager auction. This is his breakout season. Ruta, 24, has hit everywhere, is fast - 10 SB- and stands 6'3," but has been invisible to Yankee prospect blogs. Gittens - fifth in the league in HRs - is 25 and looks more DH than 1B.
You can get lost in stats, but it's rare to have the top three in a league. (The Yanks have nobody close in Scranton or Tampa. In low Single A, a 20-year-old OF Caanan Smith is fourth in the Atlantic Coast League, hitting .339.)
One last MILB note: Nineteen year-old Jose Devers, the kid we traded to Miami as part of the Giancarlo Stanton deal - (and brother of the Boston Devers) - is now second in hitting in the Atlantic Coast League. He's batting .331. Great. Just great. One of these days, we might just have a brand new reason to hate that deal.

Apparently, we have a new pitcher on the Yanks...Chase Adams. At least that's what Sterling was saying. He was pitching for two innings. He was then replaced by Chance Adams. I wonder if they are brothers?
JM, I agree that Hicks is way overrated. But he is a serviceable player, who can do a number of things well.
If we get very lucky, maybe Florial will prove to be for real and we can replaced him in another couple years. But for now, we're lucky to have him considering the alternatives.
