Do you guys think, for one second, that the two time all star closer we just traded for is as good as he was when he went to the all star games?
What team trades a player like that for anyone, much less for an unknown version of Altuve ( Durbin will be the next Jay Buhner ) and an elderly lefty who wasn't supposed to be as good as he has been? "Has been" being the operative words.
Seriously, we all know that the Yankees wouldn't trade a 30 year old Mariano for anyone. Closer is nearly as important to a team as is Soto. We win the World Series if we had a closer like Mariano. And Milwaukee is going to trash theirs in a trade for no one?
You really think Brian Cashman just solved our " closer problem" for the next 5 years?
This is another act of desperation. Of panic. We paint over the graffiti and pretend it is art.
We are clearing the shelves of any remaining inventory ( young players with potential ) for resumes.
We won't make the playoff round this season. These trades are a death spiral.
Mark my words.

At least a "full" season of Devin and Jazz makes this team watchable. BTW anyone else see Soto’s pregnant belly in those front page Met jersey pics?
Durbin ended before he began. Lucky Him.
Funny thing, I thought that it was a trick of my eyes and the camera. It sounds like sour grapes, but it is easy to imagine Soto looking like a late career Kirby Puckett by age thirty.
