Redsocks-Yanks Duel Over Dupe Tykes in Propaganda War

The Redsocks have snagged 50 teen-age hostages. Actually, they're props.

About 50 Carrigan (West Haven) Middle School students were turned away from Yankee Stadium Tuesday when their bus arrived 45 minutes late for a tour. Parents said Yankees employees initially promised a shortened tour because of the delay, but later reneged, leaving many of the kids crushed by the news.

Turned out it was a tour bus, not the Yankees. Close enough. A Redsock fan, in between chants of "Yankees suck," swooped in with an offer.

“We have a free tour of Fenway Park” (in Boston), Carrigan Principal Patricia Libero announced Wednesday.

Hearts and minds. That's what the Redsocks want. They're calling for cutting the 18 cent gas tax this summer, cutting governmental waste and fraud, and free pizza for all.

But... oops... there is a catch.

Libero, an avid Red Sox fan, said she was delighted by the news, but cautioned that only the tour is free; the bus trip to Boston, an expensive cost, would still have to be paid for.

Send canned food.
