We owe CC Sabathia $20

Well, maybe. I think we'll need a ruling from el Duque on this (because we all know how well his EOTM rulings have gone over).

In February, we promised a bounty of an unheard-of $20 (that's right, 20 bucks in cold ... hard ... cash) to any player that takes out a Ray. This was to avenge the brutal attack on Francisco Cervelli.

We said "in a collision," though. Does CC's plunking of Carlos Pena (breaking not one, but two fingers) count as a collision?

I bet Carlos thinks it does.

I think we may have to pony up $20.

Pony up. Not only did he take out a Ray, but he didn't even give the guy a free base.

Do we even have $20?

Well, Duque is one the one who actually issued the bounty, so I figure he'd pay up.

But I'll be more than happy to donate $2 .. one for each finger.

(In the interests of good sportsmanship, and because we never want to celebrate injury to competitors not named "Youkilis," I have resisted the urge to refer to CC's pitch as "finger breakin' good." Well, until just now.)

No way does it count !

We need some "September Call-up " Yankee to barrel into Navarro at the beginning of the season ( ok, that won't work ) in a game we are up 24 runs.

Break a few collar bones, dislocate a few shoulders and ribs, and get up 'high fiving' for scoring run 25 in the top of the 9th.

CC might get some MVP votes for this work. But it does not equal what that no name did to our young prospect catcher.

I promise you, he wouldn't have slammed into Jesus like that.

Bernie's comment about celebrating an injury to Youkis is more than a little disgusting to me.

He is completely forgetting Pedrioa, Veritek, and Papelbon.

Unforgivable.

This post feels like Christmas morning.

Anonymous makes a stellar point: not only did CC crush Carlos but he's so stone cold he made the guy come back for a swing and a miss and a fist full of pain.
