The Encouraging Signs

Despite giving up a 5-1 lead after 5, and a 7-5 lead after 6 innings, we have the following factors to lend encouragement for the year:

1. The lady Huskies beat the 6'8"Baylor Freshman of the year and her rapidly developing teammates.

2. We no longer have to lose to Donovan McNab and the Eagles.

3. We have the men's NCAA final tonight, though Butler has no chance.

4. Bars in NYC did not close down despite the Yankee's inept opening.

5. The Mets will be in first place after Santana goes 7 and gives up 1 run and 3 hits.

6. I'm thinking of getting a new outfit.

I guess I should be encouraged because we saw only one [ill-timed] passed ball by Posada instead of the three I had nightmares about last week.
The man cannot catch the baseball consistently. He's going to lead the league in passed balls [unless Wakefield becomes a regular starter again], and the Yanks will lead the league in wild pitches because Posada stinks at blocking them. That, by the way, is the real reason Burnett was so unhappy throwing to him last year.

Getting a new outfit? OK, as long as it has pinstripes.

That's the first meaningful explanation I've heard. Thanks for that, Joe

I think Posada should take over at DH when Nick Johnson gets hurt.
