High noon in Bushville

If not for the Redsocks losing 11-0, with two free-agent bullpen lugnuts - Bobby Jenks and Dan Wheeler - sent to the DL, our 2011 Cinco de Mayo parties would have been a disaster.

But a certain wise man once told me something unique about baseball, and, in this time of utter debasement and hopelessness, I would like to share it with each of you.

Unlike other sports, where the same two teams play each other over and over, baseball offers a pitcher who dramatically alters the focus of the each game. Thus, if we lost yesterday with Freddy Garcia, we go out tomorrow with somebody else, and it's an entirely different game.

Isn't that amazing?

So today we play the Rangers, an entity that deserves our enmity. What happened yesterday does not matter.

Yes, that certain wise man told me that every day springs forth anew, like the freshly fallen dew upon the earthy greenery of spring seedings, settling upon the warming breezes of spring!

And you know what? He was right. You can't predict baseball! You just can't!

But for one exception. Right now, no Redsock lead is safe.
