Standing
next to the Man: Cano’s double in the third inning
with his 30th of season and moved him into a select club. Cano joins Hall of
Famer Stan Musial as the only players in history to reach 30 doubles in 13
consecutive seasons.
Musial had a 16-year run from 1942-58 with 1945 omitted because of military service. Tris Speaker (1916-27) and Honus Wagner (1899-1910) are the only other players to have 30 doubles in12 consecutive seasons.
Cano is the only player in history to have his streak at the start of his career.
And No. 31 on the season came in the sixth inning.

Who cares?
How bout the fact that the Yankees may have 2 players end up with OVER 100 RBIS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOR EVER
We had 3 guys with over 100 ribbies in 2011...but it does SEEM like forever.
As for Joggy...if a tree hits a double in Seattle, and nobody hears it, does it make a sound?
Good for Robbie. It's not his fault he didn't do it for the Yankees, who complained that he wanted too much money but then went out and blew even more for less: McCann and Ellsbury and somebody else I can't remember.
However, Cano's achievement is significant for another singular reason: His signing with Seattle is the only known example of el duque defending billionaires from the greed of millionaires.
Just saw the lineup for tonight: Is ol binders clinically insane... Judge does good in the 6 hole so you PROMPTLY install him in the 2 hole where there's allot pressure and he's known to press... Judge will go 0-4 3ks ... Thanks How luv you George W can probably manage this team better
Oh, granted Parson T., Robbie has the right to play wherever he wants, and make as much as he wants. It's in the Constitution! He doesn't have to answer to us, or anybody else.
And maybe he's filled with a soul-deep love for the country of the high pine trees, and secretly burns to turn the Mariners into a great dynasty.
And yes, I would rather have thrown money at him than those other clowns.
But from all appearances, at least, it seems he doesn't care, which makes it hard to root for a guy. We're all in this delusion together, and if somebody obviously doesn't believe, well, why should we?
Or to quote from "Hud":
HUD: What turned you sour on me? Not that I give a damn, Homer.
HOMER: Just that, Hud. You don't give a damn. That's all, that's the whole of it. You still don't get it, do you?
No one wants to hear us. Girardi is a huge part of the problem.
And so far my judge prediction regarding his batting line is coming true #Girardi-is-a-thunder-head
A little better today. Girardi got Houdini in quick, and kept him there. Some very nervous moments with you-know-who, but we'll take it.
References to great movies win arguments here, Horace. Cano is a bit less malicious than Hud, but i see your point.
Thanks, Parson! And yes, Cano seems thoroughly likable. At least he's not one of those guys who acts as though a court has sentenced them to play baseball for a living.
His easy-going nature probably serves him well in real life. But who among us cares about THAT??
