I was on vacation last week and got in very late on Monday. Even later, we had to go to the animal hospital, because our lovely, funny, great pet cat had developed a critical illness...kidney failure...over the last day and a half we were away.
We went to say goodbye, and had to let him go so he wouldn't suffer any further.
I'm watching the game, I'm glad CC got out of that early jam, but my heart isn't in it. It's going to be very lonely around here without that silly guy's company when the wife is at work.
RIP, Maus. You are and will be missed, greatly.
I think even Maus wondered why we still have Walker, btw. He was a smart fellow.
Some prankster keeps calling John. I heard the phone ringing during the second and thought that is was odd. Then it started ringing again after Stanton's HR and Suzyn said someone is calling him, you'd think they'd know he's doing a game.
The Win Warblist LOVES THE HEAT!! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH-HaHaaHAHAHAHAA- AAAA-AA-Ahh-AHHH-AAAHHHHH-AAaAaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHaaaaAAHHHHHHHHHHHaaaa-ah-ah-ah-aaaaaaaaAaAaHaHaHaaaAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!
80 is REALLY OLD. Vin Scully retired at 88 (I had to play some YouTube clips to remind myself how geriatric his voice was). My employer is 92 and he still shuffles around the building every day, same weak voice. The guy who lives next door told me he’d be dead in six months five years ago, has an old man voice. John Sterling sounds EXACTLY THE SAME as he did in 1972. Will we get another decade out of John? I hope so.
John M, I'm so sorry to hear about your dear Maus, as a 'cat person' I know how tough a loss like that is, especially unexpected! Long Live Maus, Long Live The Master, and Long Live IIHIIFIIC!
Very sorry to hear about Maus, John M. It's amazing how much that can effect one. We have lost two of them over the years, one while holding her, and seeing that light just fade out of her eyes was terrible. They are such small things, but so large to us.
John...sorry about your loss. As a long time pet owner, I understand the finality of losing a pet and the despair it brings. I have two 4 year old Yellow Labs and frequently lament their passing even though it will likely not happen for at least another 6-10 years. The silver lining is, at our ages most here are, we might be outlived by our pets and never have to go through that experience again! How is that for optimism? I think I've been reading this blog too long LOL.

You can't predict baseball! Move the runner over! Score a run on an out!
Salute to The Master, who like another master, The Maestro Louis Armstrong, loved working on his July 4th BDay!

Kay imitated the Master on the Stanton HR. It was his birthday tribute.
Sorry to lose a Yankee fan in your household, John M.
Condolences.
It's official, I have more faith in Higgy than Bird.
Thanks, Alphonso.
I'm listening to the away feed. They're pretty good.
Keith Olberman is on.
BLP is, right now, slightly better than replacement player level.
BB Ref has BLP at 0.2 WAR for the season. Fangraphs has him at 0.4. I know that we here at IIHIIFIIC are all so very pround.

Sterling is on PEDs.
Not just any PEDs... Festeris.

Rest in peace, Maus
Sorry about Maus, John. I’m sure he was a good kitty.
