What Now, Fair Dillon?

I don't think Boone's new hitting coach is having a good time.

Nor, of course, are we.

The whole idea is idiotic.

The following is sung by Sean Casey, after a cattle prod electrocution to the nuts raises his voice two octaves, courtesy of Andrew Lloyd Webber:

Don't cry for me Dillon Lawson
You're now the law-man of A-ri-zo-na
You'll make good moo-vies
Of western vintage
You'll make good moo-vies
From A-ri-zo-na
You'll make good moo-vies

Whenever I get sick of the Yankee shit show, I check out mad tv's Kenny Rogers and his JACKASS videos on youtube. The Three Jackasses, hitting each other with baseball bats, pepper spray, cattle prods, whilst gulping down bottles of whiskey and gallons of milk, riding shopping carts and sleds. What would you pay to see HAL, Cashman, & Boone do a JACKASS video? A helluva of good time!

Thanks for the tip, AA.

Hammer, that's a great idea. The New Three Stooges! Hal, Cash, and Boonie in hi-larious short slapstick films. I can just picture Hal saying, "Say, give me those pliers, will ya, needle nose?"

I'd pay to see it.

RailRiders had a lousy first half but they're off to a solid start in second half. Only .5 games back. It's become an annual event...turn from the Yankees in disgust not long after the all star break and enjoy entertaining and competitive baseball from the consistently best run team in the organization.

I've said it before...Brian Cashman is a first ballot International League Hall of Famer.

Pirates are DFAing Wil Crowe. Had been on rehab assignment. Fully healthy niw. Throwing 94-95. Could be interesting waiver pickup.

The joyful days of summer are past. The Orioles are in first place and the Yankees are in last.

CashBrain will only make this worse. That's his job. Extracting profit from a bad team. I'm sure winning is never mentioned.

Unwavering positivity. Sure. Let's do that.

Oh Duque!! Thank you for giving Ken of Brooklyn the chyron. I was feeling the weight of having carried it so long.

The Orioles winning the division is an ideal outcome for our beloved Yankee regime. There’s not the bad blood as with the other three and they can deploy their media shills to lecture the “spoiled” fans who “never would have tolerated” tanking for years of rebuilding. It’ll only serve as another opportunity to remind us to be thankful for Cashman’s sustained excellence and Hal’s willingness to spend and field a competitive team.

What a great signing Rodon was…FFS…

Cone noted that because of the late-afternoon shadows, this might be the last inning that the Yankees will be able to clearly see the ball when batting.

I have to believe that, for this team, not being able to see the ball might actually be a good thing.

Celerino Sanchez said...

My guess is Rondon is on the DL tomorrow. Just 5 years and he’s off the books!

MJH said...

Rodon gave up the two run bomb in the first inning and knew the game was over.

It's just baffles the mind to think Cashole still has a job. Trades for garbage, signs free agent garbage, and turns the farm system into garbage.

Goodnight Boone
Goodnight Boone
Please leave the room
You wincing Goon

We don’t care
Where you go
Just leave right now
You feckless Schmo

Speak not to the press
It will only depress
Us Yankee fans
Who find it sad
To root for tomato cans

Goodnight Boone
You bubble bursting’
Seed spitting’
GOON

To steal a phrase Dick Young used to describe a chant directed at George Steinbrenner, when newspapers had stricter rules about language ….

This team whistles backwards.

John and Suzyn were hammering the make up of the team. Just hammering. He said it was possibly the worst Yankee lineup he has ever seen. Suzyn was right there piling on. They were openly disgusted and this was before the game got out of hand.

AboveAverage said...

Doug - they are SO REFRESHINGLY, UNWAVERINGLY not part of the YES team!

From the estimable Keefetothecity, on Tuesday's garbage:

The guy hitting behind him was Moniak. The same Moniak Boone chose to face instead of Ohtani earlier in the game. As is always the case with Boone, he’s like a Blackjack player that stays with a 16 and the dealer showing a 7 sometimes, and then other times hits in the same situation.

Moniak entered the game hitting .326 in 151 plate appearances. He is a career .239/.285/.444 hitter in 318 plate appearances. Boone chose to pitch to the best power hitter in the game this season for fear of Moniak representing the tying run. It would be like an opposing manager choosing to pitch to Aaron Judge and citing Billy McKinney being on deck as the reason why.

“We did a lot of good things tonight,” Boone said with a straight face.

I haven’t had a game on in weeks. How long a win streak do we need for me to start again? Five straight wins, is that false hope? 8 of 10? No chance, is there? This is the earliest it’s been over in my lifetime (I ain’t as old as most of you). I don’t think I gave up last year until September. Did Rufus really quit because of EBD (erection breath disorder), or because the Yankees absolutely suck and he just needed an excuse?

I'm watching the Mets tonight. Verlander is pitching a gem against the ChiSox, 8 innings, 1 run, 3 hits.

Yeah, we didn't need THAT guy.

Man, this team stinks.

Peraza looks as bad as Volpe . What a terrible job this team does of preparing its prospects. Peraza, Volpe, Cabrera were 0-11 with 8 strikeouts! They all need more time in AAA . There were the usual terrible AB’s up and down the lineup. The team K’d 42 TIMES this series. Rodon awful again. 11 walks issued by the pitching. I guess the plan is for Judge to ride in and save the season and while he will improve the team no one player will clean up this mess. And Bader hurt again.

I did get a laugh when Boone’s cell went off in the middle of his post game report. Maybe it was cashman?
