Ballantine Ale is still good, they never fucked up the recipe over the years like so many other beers. (Looking at you, Schlitz. Granted, it was back in the 60s or early 70s, but still.)(And I still miss Dobler.)

Nearly impossible to find Ballantine anymore. The Ale has been repurposed as a craft beer.
WAIT! I'm confused. In David Halberstam's book, "The Summer of '49: The Yankees and Ref Sox in Postwar America" (I read it over thirty years ago) I was sure that he mentioned Ballantine beer being gone since the early seventies which shocked the hell.out of me. Is my memory wrong or was it brought back? Anyone else read the book and have the same memories?
BTW, what a great book!
I drank ballentine as a yute in the mid 70s.
