"We’re playing like a bunch of old men."

So says the Giambino, 37, born in 1971.

We're the only team in baseball with memories of Jimmy Carter.

Mussina, 1968.
Rivera, 1969.
Posada, 1971.
Hawkins, 1972.
Pettitte, 1972.
Damon, 1973.
Jeter, 1974.
Matsui, 1974.
Abreu, 1974.

We're old. The season isn't. Nine games.

Boston this weekend.

Luckily, we have a stable of young studs just ready to jump up and bail us out.

From the Charleston Seadogs to High quality A ball. From Double AA to AAA.

Minor problem; other than the gargantuan Jesus, we have no catcher. Our top prospect being ruined in a Spring Training game by Tampa Bay.

Also, other than Eric Duncan, we have no first baseman. Translation; we have no first baseman in the minors.

Except maybe that Juan person, who was born when El Duque was born. Their birth records appear to be lost so, as with a " no documentation mortgage," we'll just believe he is whatever age he says he is.

Somehow, this all reminds me of the 55 year old Andy Morales we signed a while back.

We do have a 30 year old second baseman at AAA....a household name, for those of you familiar with the leadership of Cuba.

The attorney General has already been promoted to replace Derek, and is currently our leading hitter.

We don't need a third baseman until 2020, unless you want someone who doesn't always strike out in the clutch. Luckily, we have no one who can play third at all, except Cody Ransome who is also in his 30'S.

But we do have some prospects in the pitching area. As soon as they recover from Tommy John surgery , we'll have some real trade bait.

Only problem; if they aren't better than what we are seeing from Hughes/Kennedy, what do we really have?
