But This Is How Magic Works.....

High everyone.

As you can see, I'm prepping for my annual run to Tampa. I can't wait to see this flock of 25-30 year old kids ( with experience at single A, truth be told ) that we got for AJ.

I also know I will not see Pineda pitch , due to some "minor" arm ailment.

As for the workings of magic ( see above ); the Giants won the SuperBowl after peaking in week 14 with a 7-7 record. On their magical run, they beat everyone we wanted them to beat and then some.

The Giants re-created the magic of 4 years earlier; same circumstances ( e.g. overtime winning kick by Tynes in NFC championship game; huge win up in Green Bay; magical catch in last minute drive againts Pats, etc ), and same end result. A championship. Most unexpected.

The downside, of course, is that the Yankees are coming loose at the seams and are doomed to do so all year long. Everything the Giants did right, the Yankees are doing wrong.

Trade Babe Ruth for a guy the Mariners know is damaged. Throw in Noesi for a 19 year old who didn't finish his senior season in high school. Our last "can't miss" 19 year old is selling shoes in Venezuela. Remember Jackson Melian?

And while I claim no love for the failed AJ ( one important game win for us ), we might as well have traded him for a KFC franchise in Shreveport.

As Einstein once told me; "Giant magic = Yankee undoing "

It can't be helped.

That is the ying and the yang of it. Gird yourselves fans. This will be a classic collapse. Old age, injuries, bad deals and panic. Banuelos and Bettances will either both undergo the knife, or be dealt for Bobby Abreu.

Magic.
