Don't worry Dick, he's day-to-day.

Which means they'll play him until he needs the 60 day DL. Then amputate.

How can a multibillion dollar operation have so many incompetents in so many different departments?

-- wait, I used to work for one. Cue Rosanne Rosanadanna.

Rufus, I lay all the blame at El Duque's frozen Syracusean feet.

All this has happened since he wrote that glowingly optimistic health report.

Time to break out the Golden Crutch Award!

It won't be long before Giancarlo...never mind.

We need to do something to counteract the bad juju, and yet, I ask myself: with all this rampant mediocrity in management (if you can call it that), why oh why do I keep watching and hoping?

Saw a "sports teams ranked by (supposed) value" somewhere on the Internet the other day. Yankees were assessed @ $7.6 billion.

I found that depressing. There are few rich folks or organizations that would pay that price (even assuming there is a great return-on-investment there).

If you pony up that kind of money, you are betting against the trend (which is, of course, that fewer baseball fans are being created -- and those of us who are addicted to the sport are getting older (which leads, eventually, to nonexistence).

We are stuck with Hal forever...

Worse, we are stuck with HAL's family forever.

Well, not us, I guess. We will be dead long before that. Consoling.
