Hoss, given the fact that he has no idea what good and enough pitching even looks like, it's not likely he'll see the beast coming. He gets murdered by that beast every year, but like Freddy Kreuger, he keeps coming back.
The one thing he is good at recognizing is bad and crippled pitching. That is his real superpower.
Again, winning not the ultimate goal.
Dick, I assume you mean that Cashman is good at recognizing bad and crippled pitching because those are the guys he tends to sign.
