Of course, this will be the year that Luis Severino goes injury-free and shines

Dear Juju Gods,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You have outdone yourselves.

Almost lost amid the impending Yankee pitching collapse (aka: Gerrit Cole's elbow) is Luis Severino's apparent resurgence as  -of course! - a Met.

Sevy has pitched in 3 games, thrown 9 innings, given up one earned run - which, using the artificial intelligent chatbot that you surely employ - equals a 1.00 ERA.

That would have made him the leading candidate to pitch on Opening Day for the Yankees, but you knew that already, didn't you?

At least Frankie Montas has shown the courtesy of yielding 8 earned runs in 7.2 innings this spring. And Drew Thorp got himself traded as part of the package for Dylan Cease.

But you had to have Sevy comeback, didn't you?

According to Modern Barber Magazine's Baseball Preview Issue... It's the beard.

"Severino Looks Sharp on the Mound and on The Street"

"The weight of Luis Severino's perfectly trimmed beard lowers the angle of his head by a half inch, cleaning up his mechanics, and changing his arm slot. He could win twenty games this year."

That said, I found this in Chiropractor Today's Baseball Preview Issue...

"Once a patient, always a patient. He will be on the IL by May."

Spring Training is full of lies.

Especially the one that says Cole will miss two months

Hard to blame the Yanks for finally passing on Setback Sevvy.

BUT...aren't these guys supposed to be the experts? If it was just a matter of recovery time before he was good again, shouldn't our "baseball people" have known that?

Can't you see the backpage? "Tom Seaverino"

Well done Pub!

But I think he’ll be more Tom Servo than Tom Seaverino

Once Sevvy got into the hands of competent medical, training, and pitching coaches, it was inevitable. I have my doubts, but it also wouldn't surprise me if he becomes a star with the Queens' Men.
